Hi everyone, I am finishing my trip in Sevilla, Spain and I realized it is super hard to get my camping stove back to Austria, so I am considering to sell it here. If you are looking for a used Omnifuel stove for a good price, contact me at 00436803039132

Just out of curiosity - why is it difficult to transport the stove from Spain to Austria? I have often carried my gasoline stove (without gasoline, of course) in my checked baggage on flights.
Gruß, Arnulf

I was flying home from Sevilla with Austrian Airlines, and on their website they state, that it is not allowed to bring any camping stove, neither in hand- nor in checked luggage. I don't know if they actually check/enforce that, but I wanted to be on the safe side.

I ended up shipping the stove separately by post, the ladies in the post office told me that it is also not technically allowed, since it is also shipped by plane, but if there is no remainder of gasoline on it, and I tell them it's a tool or something it would probably be fine.

I figured I'd rather have a package with my stove sent back to Sevilla than miss the flight or have to throw it in the trash at the airport in the worst case.

I have just seen that the complete Lufthansa Group prohibits this in its conditions of carriage.
Google can't find out how long this has been the case.
I would pack the stove, pump and open bottle separately as before.

Clean it and send it home in a parcel ... if it is in parts (disassembled) there will be no problem.

I would advise against taking it on the plane. I missed a flight once for that reason, as per a thorough security check. Which was not fun.

2017 i had massive problems (on the way to Darwin) because of the empty and cleaned gasoline bottle which was packed with the bicycle. After waiting several hours for my bicycle after arriving the officials told me that they had an gas alarm when checking the plane before unloading it. They said I was lucky that they almost immediately found the reason for the alarm otherwise I would have been billed for any delay of the plane.
So I also sold my beloved Wisperlite before leaving the country.

Obviously, I have been lucky in the past or they have not been as picky as they seem to be nowadays. The suggestion made by Andreas might be a good solution. In the worst case you will not receive your parcel. Actually, when sending an emptied and perhaps even cleaned stove, there should not be any problem. @Clemens - have you been successful with this strategy?

The small gas burner, which I am using for several years should not pose a risk when added to the checked baggage (stored e.g. in one of the pots) and up to now I never had complaints. I have an adapter for piercing gas cartridges. Those I easily found in all countries I have visited so far. Screw cartridges I could use anyway, but they are more expensive and not necessarily available.
Gruß, Arnulf

Yes, I received the parcel without any problems.

Regarding the gas burner, I can only say that technically on the Austrian Airline website it states, that no camping stoves are allowed at all (keine Campingkocher), however, I don't have any personal experience for that case.

I think that a "stove" like the one shown HERE (mine looks the same) should never be a problem. There is no part included, which could contain some burnable substance (in this case, gas).
